    Yes, they need a lot of water.

    But as per earlier announcements they have identified a source 15km to the south. The survey is to find something closer to the processing plant.

    I have seen projects in Israel with solar desalination in the gigalitre range. Yes, formidable capex and hopefully not needed  but not a show stopper.
