Gosh, the decision handed down has massive implications, not just for LKO but the industry. If State Goverments do uturns and flips on exploration resulting in companies and investors facing massive losses and the court finds in favour of this. Well then VIC isn't the place to invest.
I'm sure the Judge has done alot of reading, but it really comes down to the legality of the state governments actions and whether they are able to act with impunity. No reference to recent goings on with Russian government, who have acted with impunity.
That said we want to operate in a society and with a system that is rules based and respects the rights of individuals, not just a minority in this case the environmentalists.
If governments think they can act outside the law, then well, we are all the poorer for this decision.
