Short answer: it's a chi-x thing.
Yes - it can happen. The ASX and some brokers (including I think Westpac, Comsec and probably Nabtrade) only show trades that occur on the ASX exchange. But there is another exchange called ChiX [see
https://au.chi-x.com ] --- so it sounds like your trade went through the chi exchange, and was not reported by the ASX or Nabtrade.
In fact, if you look at the RHS of the screen on hotcopper, it shows the days trades on ASX and chi-x, and they may have different prices, or different closing prices. Sometimes, weird situations can happen where you see some shares offered at say 1.8c, and simultaneously another party placing a bid at 1.8c, and no trade happens, because the two brokers are operating on different platforms.
