My interpretation of that ambiguous paragraph is that AP, even though they've realised "rectification" is unlikely, doesn't intend to just sit around twiddling their thumbs while they wait for the completion of the new batch, but will rather use this time to experiment with the last lot of wafers, presumably to learn more about these sometimes seemingly unpredictable devices?
