    Thanks bweernie.

I mention the battery supply problem here:

    https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/batteries-agan.4040518/?post_id=31316470#.WsMQUYhuaUk

The battery waiting list suddenly got longer when the world woke to the benefits they confer, particularly for wind and run-of-river hydro generating off-peak.

We talk freely about big batteries.  Even a small scale unit simply to provide frequency stabilization would improve the quality and value of IFN's output.

IFN's BoD has my sympathy in trying to forge a path through myriad variables and past a federal government trying to protect sunk investments in fossil fuel generators by stifling innovation and cheaper new methods.

This makes me smile, EA buying Jerrelang and Newport gas generators for $205m.

    The key take:
"Jeeralang's A unit has run less than 2 per cent of the time in the past three years, while Newport ran just 9.1 per cent of the time in 2016..."

Even the most modern gas units are only a few batteries from complete extinction.  Vendor IFM will be breathing a sigh of relief at flipping these dinosaurs just in time.
