I won't thank Tony for anything. Ever. He does neither his own preferred stock or KNL any favours.
Anyways, it does look more professional without the cheetah.
Shame it didn't come with an announcement that the Minerals Commission has commenced. You gotta start wondering WTF is going on there that something so vital and simple as starting a Minerals Commission is taking so long!! The huge impact that a 10 month + delay has on local communities in Tanzania that are looking at progress in the Mining Sector to drive direct and indirect employment opportunities, all the local mining service companies and their employees, all the banks, all the lawyers, etc who will be used so extensively under the new regulations. Madness frankly.
The cost to the Tanzanian economy as a result of the ongoing delays is enormous....it is a classic case of the law of unintended consequences in action.
Reminds me of an example from ecology. A herd of rare dear lived on a mountains side. In order to do the deer a favour and help their population grow and prosper, the local Dept of Environment fenced them off and removed all the wolves. So far so good. Deer population exploded. Then came a very cold snowy winter and there was no food for the deer which tried in vain to leave ...but fences...
Deer nearly all died. Law of unintended consequences.
So ...new legislation aimed to improve returns to the Tanzanian peoples from Mineral resources. Fine. Agree of Disagree but in place. But pace of regulations being released now pace of Minerals Commission getting established, then likely pace of sifting through the mountains of applications.....what are the unintended consequences going to be...most of the miners and developers and prospectors will be fine...not happy....but fine to wait it out.......but what of all the local businesses and communities that rely on a vibrant active Minerals sector. So much for improving their lot in life.
