    Downrampers please get off this site. Yes, HVN is gravitating lower amid concerns about soft trading environment and, for me, reduced dividends. However, my thesis is that notwithstanding the Amazon threat, HVN will be best positioned than other smaller scale retailers to find consistent profitability going forward.

    I like the fact that HVN own the property they utilise, and Gerry consistently matches on line pricing still with good margins. As to commentary about housing, In the last 12 months I began building on the central coast, contracting with McDonald Jones. Let me tell you the volume of building work with MJD is very strong, let alone people refurbishing etc

    I will be a buyer as HVN drifts down to the $3.50 level and accumulate further. The only reason it would drop to $1+ would be a GST event, and this is what happed to HVN back in 2008/9. Wish I had bought in back then!!

    Not that I suggest you go hard purchasing HVN in your portfolio, say no more that 5% but you could do a lot worse with other stocks, particularly those that promise blue sky without a track record and sound business model (with all it’s peculiarities) like HVN
