The wind resource in the area certainly seems to have potential. Windlab are involved in a Wind project at the Kennedy energy hub a couple of hundred kms to the south of Kidston and they know what they are doing when it comes to Wind.

There's a wind resource map available that shows a bit of a "hot spot" between Kidston and Einasleigh, which might correspond to the range of hills depicted in the press release.
