Umm, they kinda already have...medicinal cannabis products are available without THC (the component that gives you the high and is ‘addictive’) or they can contain almost untraceable amounts, that is, CBD only.

The Cann group (headed by Allan McCallum) don’t have any such product currently, while other Australian companies have made inroads in supplying the market with MC products without THC. There are a plethora of clinical trials attempting to pave the way for MC, but they are struggling for mass acceptance in multiple jurisdictions (Australian practioners and the regulatory bureaucrats have been woeful with the uptake of MC). Further, different ailments respond to different formulations of THC and CBD blends, and a little research in the combinations according to each individual and ailment is truly mind boggling, i.e. there’s no wonder MC pill that suits all.

In my opinion, there are opportunities for Australian MC companies with active and ongoing clinical trials that could utilise MVP’s facilities in the future....but that’s a long way off...too many clinical trials that are in their infancy, and the resultant benefits of MC and specifically, the benefits of CBD’s as an adjunctive therapy are yet to be published and formally recognised. Effectively, MC products won’t entirely take the place of penthrox, or opioids, but its place within healthcare is surely warranted.
