Interesting musings my friend. I agree that the nature of the industry is shape shifting rapidly. My answer is that, if IAM's services are as good as claimed, then whoever fully utilizes it first will become by far the most reactive and likely-to-survive business. I think the need for financial advice will always be there but the amount of businesses offering it will not. I think licencees know this now and as such are pushing for a top-down solution that they can implement across their branches.
I think CBA are bleeding and IAM are the guaze pad. I think there's no code cracking needed and George's addition is black and white. George is there on behalf of CBA to move things along smoothly. As in any good business strategy, IAM will never close it's doors to exclusivity and throw their hands up saying "yep, we're solemnly going to ride with CBA". I believe that now CBA have taken the first (and most advantageous) step forward.. others will try and follow. But given our limited resources and time, they will have to wait.
This is all my pure speculation and ramblings. I do not discount the idea that IAM could be taken over either.
