    Yes I got that all mixed up.

    A shorter wants to sell at the high. But everything else I said makes sense because in order to achieve the highest price he can't just dump everything on the market because that would lower the price too quickly. Ideally, he wants to sell out slowly at the high without twigging the market to the presence of a large seller.

    Ofcourse, after his position is sold, he wants the SP to plunge. But he's already done the selling so he can't do any more selling to influence the drop.

    I think a cabal of shorters could engineer a big drop and cash out along the way. But that would take a lot of coordination and might even be illegal.
