    Pretty common for start up company to pay new employee performance shares/rights, A. you save cash draw on scarce working capital; B. hype up employee's motive to succeed.

    A lot of money/performance shares at stake of these key dates, it's good to see a hard deadline for them to deliver by, but that in no way actually warrants their success at the end, it's just a check point, I wouldn't normally become more or less hopeful after seeing 3Bs.
