Members, as you are probably aware, the site is undergoing some redesign, but also we are preparing to stamp out some of the bad behaviour that seems endless on some threads.
To help with this, member education is stepping up and you will see some more simplified posting guidelines that will assist you to stay out of trouble!
These may appear as pop ups in the future, and the full Terms of Use and guidelines will still remain clickable.
Our moderators would love a magic button to force them to pop up on certain members after reading a 'bad' post
Simple story though: if you all post within the guidelines, you will never have to worry about moderation or suspension.
It really is that easy.
It's noticeable that most members are able to never be moderated, as they remain civil and post sensibly all the time, never insulting others, no profanity, no unsubstantiated ramps etc. others are regularly being moderated, and then wonder why they are given suspensions.
It's probably a good time to refresh yourselves on some of the most simple things that cause threads to be wrecked by a sea of grey.
Do not flame or insult other members.
Do not derail threads with silly low content posts.
Do not post about moderation. It is a thread derailer, and 90% of people perceive the moderator is biased, when they are not, they are just upholding the guidelines, and often have no idea on the stock code.
DO click report on posts that are sending threads off track, or are in clear breach of our guidelines.
Once reported, do not reply to it. Do not reply and then report it. That will be considered to have negated your report.
An early preview for you.
I'll leave this thread open for sensible commentary only.
