I got a call from AGL a couple of months ago with a 30% off residential gas usage via direct debit (12 months). I stuck with Alinta as they gave me 25% off for 24 months. A Filipino team of call assistants signed me up for a different AGL offer over the phone yesterday. I even was on the phone to Alinta trying to squeeze a further discount from them, but they wouldn't budge. They offered 35% off for 2 years residential gas usage with a $50 credit first bill (billed by email - can pay bpay).
Alinta was 11.03cents first 12 units
AGL 8.67cents first 12 units and 7.83 there after.
Alinta supply charge 21.29 cents per day
AGL supply charge 19.35 cents per day
Alinta Account service fee all inclusive 6.92 cents per day
AGL Account service fee all inclusive 6.16 cents per day
They said it is considered to be a clean switch. Alinta will get their last read then transitions to AGL billing. We normally don't use more than 12 units per day. Will give it a go. Alinta said normally if you transition between companies there can be an account setup fee including meter read of $45. I said so if i came back to you guys you'll charge that? She said probably not because you've been a customer for many years. But, Alinta didn't want to push lower. See how they go. I'm in WA.
