There are plenty of theories/reasons being banded around and the real truth may never be totally known because the truth may be embarrassing for him to admit. But take your pick many believe it was because of money many say he was led to believe they (crows)had to pay Bryce Gibbs a certain amount there-fore talked him into taking a smaller amount. Truth is Gibbs took a smaller amount and in fact was on less then Mitch but Gibbs was paid a tad higher than they told Mitch. Another is he didn't get on with Josh Francou (ass coach) ex-port guy. Some say he pushed like hell to play in the grand-final last year and when he was told his hammy still wasn't right he was really angry and has never really let it go.
There's others reason floating around take your pick and as for being one of the best player not even close I'm afraid and I'm talking about when he was playing which most times he wasn't. Suffers with a lot of hammies even in 2017 then the crows were almost 100% injury free. He is also sus to other injury's as well. Most in in Adelaide would grade Mitch as better than average with all things considered pretty good hands but kicking is way below par. While he does had a great game every now and again they are far and few in-between.
Now has he got potential sure all payers have that - his brother I would rate a 9.5 out of 10 - Mitch at best I would rate a 5.
Now that he will be playing for Carlton and he is one of their better players he will get closer attention maybe have a best defender on him. So it will be interesting.
