I think it really makes little difference how long players have to rest up between games - some injuries take more than 4 but less than 7 but they would be rare statistics. The clubs know how to prepare the players for these short breaks between games - i'd love to see the stats but i don't think they would show anything conclusive.
Rugby league players might have to play on the sunday then front for state of origin on the tuesday or wednesday and then back up for a saturday game - nobody blinks an eyelid or invokes the unfair card - some individual clubs might be putting 3 players into the nsw team and the same again into the qld team while the team they play on the following saturday may have no state of origin reps - again it's a handy excuse if you happen to lose (and again the stats probably wouldn't show anything conclusive) - just like inaccurate kicking for goal - you either win or you lose, stuff the excuses because you can ALWAYS find one if you need one.
