Good post Elee agree with most of what you say . Its cool to share ideas and thoughts - add a few more if I may.
Against Geelong you didn't really need to have a ruck-man because they didn't have one either.
The power were forced to play the wings and retain possession because the Geelong defense set up so well all game - a task made easier for them by the fact that the port forward set up was pretty awful - imo Westhoff has to be a forward target because dixon and particularly watts don't present.
The port small forwards only played in patches - I thought Neade was going to have a standout game but what happened after his early goals, Wingard isn't a shadow of his former self. something port fans should consider is why Impey is making such an impact at hawthorn - if hawthorn target someone they usually get it right, so from all the small speedy forwards available they chose him. port need to get a better recruiting team in place and better list management.
Ports problems began before the season started and it was plain to see and anybody with a brain said it - you can't recruit a whole stack of has-beens who never were. Lindsay Thomas - for christ's sake why would you want him and then brag about it as a recruiting coup? Motlop was a passenger at Geelong and rarely impacted - in a lesser team like port it will be a rarity to see him impact on the scoreboard.
Watts was a number one draft pick but his use by date to deliver on that expired many years ago - he's performing better than i thought he would - but that still ranks him as mediocre at best. Thought Rockliff was their best shot but I think injuries may be hampering him - he hasn't set the world on fire when he has played and I'm sort of thinking he may not fit into the port style of play even when he is on song.
