Hi Aton good to have you drop in from time to time - crow supporters (posters) seem to be few on HC. I'm working hard trying to get baxter and cuppa -into becoming turncoats, but don't like my chances. The HC sports forum is great place to share some ideas, opinion, banter. passion or just kill a bit of time. AFL what a great game we have in Australia.
If we lay it all on the table we really don't know how much these players get paid so it matters little what they're worth because we don't really know - at best we can make a realistic guess/guesses at what clubs may throw at them. They're worth exactly what some club is willing to pay(we both agree) and that will always be dependent on a club's salary cap - there's no such thing as loyalty either way, the clubs aren't loyal to their players - they'll trade them at any given moment on a whim and the players certainly aren't loyal to their clubs - they'll chase whatever $'s they can get and they would have to be pretty lucky to go to a club for the same money in the hope of picking up a premiership - nobody was lining up to go to the dogs in 2016 and nobody was lining up to go to the tigers last year - the players who did - caddy and nankervis were discards from other clubs, houli was already there as was grigg who were also rejects/discards - dangerfield has yet to taste premiership glory but gets to count those all important $'s
Naturally there are exceptions - I wouldn't expect walker to leave the crows but then again i didn't think luke hodge would ever leave the hawks (he wasn't the captain for one of their recent flags, mitchell was, and everyone was pushing the line that hodge was the 'spiritual' captain) whole point being is You Just don't Really Know.
lynch (gold coast) is in the perfect situation - some club will find whatever $'s it takes. personally as you know I'm not prejudice lol I'd make sloane my target if I had some spare cash and I'd be offering a lot more than i would for lynch.
The certainty is that both of them will leave to find other clubs (MORE MONEY) but you never know your luck in this big world - miracles occasionally happen at a huge stretch one may even stay with their club. don't hold your breath tho.
