I somehow doubt it. 10 years is a severe sentence and there are plenty that deserve it, maybe even our own FC and RM could be in line for such attention.
But difficult to catch and this newbie in Adelaide probably admitted it in the end.
Really need whistleblowers in this situation.
Love to see ASIC/Feds throw millions into a software system that will track and find the transactions. However I think the legal aspect is the problem. People basically do have a right to buy and sell at what ever price they like, and it is not a crime to be stupid.
How to prove it is all part of a plan to manipulate the stock, up or down. Is successfully making money all the evidence needed ? I don't think so.
There is actually so much manipulation that they should do something about it. The integrity of the market is at stake.
They should get on to a high profile case, track it down and burn the players to ashes. That will make people change.
I also think ban the high frequency stuff.
