Commenced with a lavish global roadshow to meet n greet his direct reports globally and sacked any1 that disagreed with him (or just to free space 4 his buddies- cfo 101 step3). Tjis lead to best buddy Inder coming in with a very enticing welcome bonus & attempt to apply his cowboy tactics, selling portfolio after portfolio at a loss.
Most classic, cant tell u how many meetings with regional cfo were played like this:
Idiot: Wats ur COR?
Regional cfo: 105,
Idiot: get it under 100. Sell wat u have to.
No thought on how to remedy or address the underlying issue to turn it around. Zero capability, it's scary.
All the while playing the cfo4dummies rule book on how to make the share price go up at all costs, equity raise, divi (from the raise), share buy back, sell problematic portfolios even at losses, speak extensively to analysts and do wat they want (they have heavy influence, quasi ceos! split out expenses (deemed to high) and paint a tech investment pic when there wasnt one!!...i could go on all day.
Smoke n morrors from this mngt, no core substance. No wonder he wants brilliant basics, has no idea, and simply doesnt want to manage the beast that it is.
