Bureau of stats say the income was at $27b (& shrinking). We either have to replace this or reduce living standard (FWIW this money is not JUST spent on the roads).
The money received from fuel will leave a massive hole to be filled in the budget. Either cut back living standards (schooling/ hospitals/ pensions) or fill that gap with other taxes/ excises.
