Firstly there are plenty of projects with varying degrees of political risk.
Look at WPL and HDR in Mauritania. There was a coup attempt there the other year. Yet HDR is now capitalised at over a billion dollars.
All the drilling TYC has been doing has been taking place without any problems. Are the results correct? BHP involvement gives me confidence they are.
If this project was located in Australia I believe the media and stockmarket would be in a state of exhilaration. I believe TYC would be capitalised at many hundreds of millions of dollars. That being the case I believe the discount for location is not reasonable, that it is very excessive.
You can make big money in markets by being a step ahead of the herd. "Fear" of location often has companies irrationally discounted. As the market becomes more comfortable the discount reduces.
