No need to apologise as it is a minefield and as you point out, many Solicitors are not up to speed.
Even some of the Judges if it comes to a court case are behind the 8 ball.
I myself got tangled up in a mess, went to court and one on 2 accounts, in other words, either point on it's own won the case for us.
It got appealed and over turned on the bases that the first Judge was in error.
Had my solicitors listened to me, and actually addressed a 3rd point in the first case, put the evidence forward, the appeal would have not been allowed. This 3 rd point placed it under the Trade and Commerce giving us more weapons.
Trouble is, even though the evidence was in the files, they didn't plead it in the case, hence it was considered new evidence and we would of had to start the whole case again.
But many thousands later, you have to draw the line at some point.
Going to Solicitors these days is like going to your Doctor, you have to do your own studies first, know the in's and out's. lol.
