Oats make a cheaper breakfast than the good quality bread I buy and sometimes makee into toast 2 slice. I I think the little sachets of flavoured oats is a ploy to sell overpriced oatmeal, when it is so easy to use the slow cooker. Mine is permanently set up on a dedicated bit of bench space, with its pre-set timer attached. I put my eating bowl with oats and water into the water bath there from the day before, sometimes adding perhaps half a cup of water to top up the bath.
Leave and forget until breakfast next day. Lift out basin of porridge. Then I add, fruits, brown sugar,yoghurt whatever..
