It’s so the unscrupulous ramping machines can suck in and manipulate the typical Mum and Dad investors that would join such a group. There’s no regulation or oversight so the facilititators can say and write whatever they want in concerted effort (there’s always more than one... they work in teams) to take your money.
If if you want these people to have your personal details and you’re happy to forgo your anonymity, knock yourselves out. But just think about it: who will be joining? The more sophisticated traders and investors; or less expirienced Mum and Dads? Then ask yourselves why they’d want to take the conversation into the shadows when Hotcopper is a perfectly accessible forum (which also has an app).
I personally wouldn’t go anywhere near this. How’s the desperation of multiple posts requesting your details? Hilariously transparent.
