I tip my hat to you @zipperlip you have shown remarkable restraint.

I am over 5 years into AVB, have shared lots of ups and downs with this stock. And no, it did not go as I had hoped, in a funny way I cannot put my finger on why, lots of things kept popping up month in month out, most good and some bad. Right up until mid-2017 I was prepared to rest on my mid 2018 review, which was to approximately coincide with options allocated (always believed they would be in the money) then wait a tad, let things settling down and decide, but I think this was a bit of a cop out for me.
Looking back its obvious, at least to me that a change took place within AVB during 2017 perhaps before. Still very hard to have picked it, the projects were all on fast track, swimming along in fact, I never considered the T/O angle, feedback from majors was all supportive of the board, the board appeared to be at least on the outside multi mine builders with ambition.
Now with some hindsight I can see that this T/O option was known and may well have been a set plan when certain bench marks were achieved. Very disappointing for me to accept, but life is all about handling things that don’t always go your way.
My mistake was not picking it, I choose to ignore odd signs and decided the collection of future potential (particularly Pantera) was enough, I should have paid more attention.
No one can give advice to others here, so many different situations and we should just accept that and be honest with what our own thinking is.
I would love to see a counter bid, or OZL feeling the need to attract a bigger number and upping the bid, all things are possible, however I do not see them as the most likely, I think OZL picking up greater than 51% is more likely.
I owned OZL before all this, IMO it’s a great Aussie company with a bright future, the shots being taken both ways is just a sad residue of any takeover, never seen one where the price was low enough for the bidder or high enough for the seller.
What I do know for a fact is this team (my team) despite all the amazing value they constantly championed, the very same team I have fought for and supported for 5 years, somehow decided that I along with all shareholders should be happy with .17c this mind you when they have multiple valuations averaging 20c + and to add insult to my injury enthusiastically endorsed this single offer.
I just hope that when I say I will take whatever the best offer is, some understand that I honoured my unwritten deal with these guys, was not I who pulled the plug, they did that. I have done OK here I guess, most have not done so well and been in this far longer, they have been treated very shabbily IMO.
Let’s hope we do hear that faint sound of the lady clearing her throat
    Cheers

    Phil.
