I have been following the Lynas story for many years now and I am well aware of the negative perception public can have toward radiation. Especially when groups purpously spread disinformation to fuel fear, such as SMSL. I can see some similarities here ATM.
It’s a fact the WLP is stored in an outdoor RSF. Lynas has measures in place to mitigate WLP residue becoming airbourne. It was one of the many concerns raised during the Parliamentary Select Committee hearings
Don’t think anyone is taking the risk of WLP lightly, especially Lynas. I think it’s more a case that some are not overly familiar with the issue and choose to source information from unreliable sources.
