When you invest long term you you should have total belief in the fundamentals of that company. Your current holdings are tied to the success of the company and in turn the success for the capital raising.

You should have the belief that the company you are backing will give you a return of your investment.

If the capital raise falls short then the companies ability to perform falls short.

    So my rules are.
If I do not support the company long term then I don't participate
If I do support the company long term but I have reached my full quota (max percentage of my portfolio) then I don't participate.
If I do support the company long term and I was already looking to add more share to my portfolio then I do participate, as I am enabling the company that I am already backing to to succeed in their objective.
