    It seems that the legal challenge against the sanctions will be from both Smith and Warner, which is to have it reduced to allow them to play shield cricket. IF that is all the intent then there's a good basis for it, as not playing shield next season will disallow them both accruing points toward selection when the sanctions expire. It seems valid as the punishment isn't intended to be career ending, and due to the selection criteria it could easily mean that.
    Perhaps I'm softening on it but I do see a fair argument.
