    If you are purely talking about info for the common buyer I agree.
    But any half intelligent person does their own research by going to open homes and then seeing what they sell for. Over a period of a few months you get a feel for true market value and make a purchase decision accordingly.

    That said you can get the median price for specific suburbs, which does similar to what you suggest.

    It's all about knowing how the stats are formulated and using that to your advantage. There is a lot of data out there...
