I’m gonna suggest that everyone knew. How many people are in a leadership group out of 11 players? Bancroft wouldn’t be in the leadership, but he knew. The bowlers would have known.. It doesn’t leave many that wouldn’t have known.
I’d also suggest this is not the first time some form of tampering has happened. Seems convenient they got caught the first time they tried.
