Increased abrasion resistance in roundabouts would be good as tyres are in a shearing motion with the road surface. Increased strength would be helpful too as the outer wheel line of heavily loaded vehicles is momentarily over-weighted and damage potential increases by the power of 4 for overloaded wheel configurations.
It’s good to have some technical edge.
However the volume of concrete in roundabouts is not that commercially large, say 200-400 m3.
Contrast that with 1,500,000 + m3 of concrete going into your average Sydney tunnel project and there are at least 5-6 of them to be built over the coming decade.
But big trees from little acorns grow.
