This part is not quite right? A short seller needs to first SELL their borrowed shares at the highest possible price. Your selling might in fact push the price down a little depending on how much you are putting into the market - so yes entering the short position must at times be done with care.
Profit is made by BUYING the shares back at a lower price than you sold them for.
