I don't think people are considering that even solar is quite a new thing.
Microgrid is a fairly new term.
This kinda stuff needs govt subsidy, thats why australia has so few cars and why norway has a tonne of them.
Then take into consideration wave energy, I don't believe we have any other wave energy in australia and most other countries are also only trialing. You can't expect all this stuff to float without assistance.
Also this is energy, maybe you should read about gas and coal and whether they get subsidies haha
