Companies can now raise capital through HotCopper, presenting opportunities to Australia’s biggest investor base directly.
This means HotCopper’s verified investment community will be able to consider participating in raises which the platform will facilitate in a highly cost-effective service to ASX-listed companies.
HotCopper’s Head of Growth Tim Sylvester says a new Australia Financial Services Licence (AFSL) now enabled capital raising transactions to be done directly with millions of engaged investors using the forum.
“This is a ground-breaking development for the Australian market,” Tim Sylvester said.
“This is about matching up the ASX-listed companies looking to raise capital, with investors looking to invest in opportunities.
“We can very much facilitate the flow of capital in a much more efficient and cost-effective manner, for not only the companies, but also for the investors looking to access the deals as well.”
Companies can register interest in capital raising through HotCopper by visiting The Market Link website here.
And the process will be easy for investors too.
Investors can register here
Investors can visit the Dealroom on HotCopper, register their details, where they will be verified, allowing them to take part in the capital raisings.
HotCopper has created a simplified investment process. Investors can join the mailing list to receive opportunities to take part in private equity raises for pre-IPO companies as well as companies already publicly listed. This won’t be limited to Australian companies as they’ll also learn about deals in Canada, offered in partnership with HotCopper’s sister company, Stockhouse.
The Market’s (ASX:MKT) Capital Markets Group includes both Australia’s HotCopper and Canada’s Stockhouse forums.
The Market’s COO, Twila Jensen, who also serves as MD of HotCopper and Stockhouse, stated that the DealRoom process had already proven highly successful in North America and was ready for launch in Australia.
“Quite simply we have raised 10s of millions of dollars over the years for companies to be able to evolve their businesses, and we’re very excited to bring that to the Australian market,” she said.
“While all investments come with some degree of risk, there’s the potential for substantial returns when companies succeed in executing their growth plans.
“Investors will be able to discover a curated selection of investment opportunities across various industries, showcasing different financial goals and risk tolerances.
“We’ve already proven out the model in Australia, producing sophisticated investor leads through Dealroom.
“The AFSL is key. We know the investors are here – Stockhouse and HotCopper are the biggest investor communities in their countries.
Cross border investment opportunities
“We’ve got a reach of 7.2 million investors in Australia, we’ve got another 5 million in Canada: What that allows us to do is bridge that gap and raise capital for both Australian companies and Canadian companies in both Australia and Canada.”
