Albanese is a fairly intelligent man. In Labor politics, you don't get to reach the top ranks of the party structure without the smartness and intelligence.
In my opinion, a problem for him with the voting public is his speech mannerism which does not come off well. He can be a good minister in the next Labor government, but I don't think he will ever be made his party's leader.
