Hi JCoure imo if you are correct that Bill Shorten is the only thing going for the govt then the govt imo is definitely kaput! If the govt is so bereft of talent and good policy that they have to rely on the Shorten factor, then they don’t deserve re-election. The govt has thrown everything at Shorten prior to the 2016 election and since and that strategy has clearly failed.

They, the voters also just don't like or want Turnbull, but will accept him, as being preferable to Shorten.
