As an aside, I am awaiting info re the effects of nuclear radiation (Fukushima?) on metals. Metal fatigue is the main one...see aircraft engines blowing up and metal fatigue being the cause
The syndrome has a name which I can't recall...the point I am making is that once this effect is widely accepted then the reduction or elimination of reinforcement from slabs (ie. multi-story buildings) becomes a real need going forward. Wouldn't like to think my apartment 40 floors off the ground was being affected by radiation caused metal fatigue.
Also, can CNT's be added to some composite metals for strengthening at the creation stage? Interesting bit of info coming through to me soon...just thought it could be passed on...a tad more grist for the slowly grinding mill.
