Why? There are still people, ordinary Mum and Dad shareholders, posters here who are good people, who believe that when an announcement is made on the asx, then the content has been checked by the asx and is therefore a reasonable interperetation of the true facts.

Wrong. The asx checks to see if the ann has dotted the i's and crossed the t's. For example, as long as an ann has been signed off by a "competent person", then the content is not even looked at to see if it is in any way reasonable. Its outside their charter to do that.

Over a lot of years ive seen ann's where the content has proven to NOT be a reasonable interperetation of the facts. Ive been trading for longer than many, probably most people here and while Ive enjoyed life changing sucess, what most people dream of to get out of trading, ive been burned to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars on the way. I obviously learned from that, and i dont like to see others experience the same thing. Success certainly has an element of luck, I dont deny that, but to ignore " red flags", especially when they are numerous, is not a path to sucess in my experience.

I was naive once. I certainly think I am less naive now. Quality of management is by a long shot the most important factor in the rewards shareholders will end up with if a position is long term. Far more important than the actual assets. Thats been proven over and over again.
