Isn't it quite normal (and prudent) practice to halt trading? Especially for a biotech. Announcements have to be carefully considered and worded before releasing and whilst this is occurring the data must be kept water-tight. Take for example the PA typing the announcement is there was no trading halt - they could tip off their friends to the impending good/bad news in advance.
Also, I think this announcement is going to focus on the matter at hand. Very much doubt trial info will be released.
