"This is truly a proof of concept for this first-in-class drug candidate." said Arun Sanyal, Professor of Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, USA and the study lead Principle Investigator. ".......We are encouraged that IMM-124E, a drug with an exceptional safety profile, can lower the LPS-associated inflammatory burden and improve liver enzymes. The potential clinical applications for this drug candidate are numerous and very exciting indeed"

Since reading the announcement last month I have been reading as much as possible about why the lowering of LPS by IMM-124E is for Professor Arun Sanyal "very exciting indeed" and I now believe I understand why he has made this statement.

I thought about trying to post references to articles on LPS but there are just so many I could not do justice to the reasoning behind Professor Sanyal's statement but would encourage anyone who is invested like me and has not fully understood LPS or is thinking of investing to spend a day googling and reading all about LPS and the possibilities surrounding a drug which could safely and economically lower same.

As a result of my reading I have concluded there are potentially  'bigger fish to fry' than  fatty liver disease if you have the ability to lower LPS with IMM-124E.
