I'm very much encouraged by the fact that FBR have been able to scale their business to 140 employees in such a short space of time. For a long time I thought CAT or another global manufacturer would be needed to bring this dream to reality but now I'm starting to think that it might be achievable by FBR alone. If you think about it they are well on track to manufacture two working prototypes by 30 June 2018. Procurement has only really been since January so the latest images are a result of a long pipeline of sourcing and negotiation with suppliers. Parts have now arrived and this is the production stage they have now reached.
FBR now have full working knowledge in not only how manufacture the product but also impediments involved in the manufacturing process. Sure it would be amazing to have the global distribution network of CAT or another manufacturer but lets face it the product pretty much sells itself. Government/UN contracts will take care of the supply side of things its just a matter of mass production. In working with a manufacturer such as CAT there will be delays, its a large/slow moving organisation. With the right amount of funding and government support this could be manufactured here in Australia by FBR and at scale with the working knowledge FBR has right now. I for one would be more than happy to fund the next round of capital if it meant not selling the farm to CAT. Very happy to be a long term holder right now.
