You forget, forrest invested in AGO shares at 5c when they asked him.
You forget AGO & FMG have been discussing rail transport for years.
You forget, the mines are all near each other and MINs bid of 3.02c is pathetically lowball and they have lost all 3 bids they have made as to consmin etc.
You forget AGO is a WA miner with many common shareholders stuffed by yankee bondholders like FMG almost was and there are many synergies and A$300M is a few months surpluses for FMG.
Allowing MINRES to take AGO would set MINRES onto its target of the 4th largest aussie IO producer behind yes FMG so it then becomes a dinkum competitior of FMG.
Does FMG want to allow MINRES to eat its lunch & build market share
I called a while back that AGO would be taken over by MINRES or FMG. Now its time to see if they want to counterbid at 4.0c, its all about the future.
FMG board & CEO likely discussing it right now. If it was up to forrest alone he would have done it already by now imho.
