We've been hearing about MSCs as anti-inflammatory agents but what about infection?
We heard of cases where MSCs were not deemed to responsible for infection but the cases were too severe for them to get a grip. Have there been, though, any cases where MSCs were able to handle severe infection?
I'm inclining to the belief (based on admittedly not a lot of information in the public domain) that MSCs have been observed to clear up severe infection in some patients. If this is so, it could be phenomenal as we could have the duality of the anti-inflammatory effect (but without the side effects of steroids) and also an antibiotic effect.
