Lol, the US, EU & Jap took China to the WTO claiming Chinese tariffs on RE were illegal!!!!!!!!!

Case was lodged around 2012 but took a very long series of very long lunches for a decision 2015 against China, ruling for the removal of tariffs.

The enormous irony is by that stage it suited China perfectly, they were wallowing with massive over capacity following their stimulated expansion 2013/14 (read "Abandoned Wind"), incl huge over capacity small/medium metal makers.

So with minimum "save face" rhetoric China did just that, removed tariffs & meaningless quotas, and ROW prices fell quickly.

Then of course Aunt Moly curled up her toes, and guess who was blamed, of course the evil, mean Dragon who'd flooded the world with "cheap RE"! Too funny, don't let the fact they couldn't produce anything on spec get in the way of a great bad Dragon story.

Seriously reads like a comic book, now Fox News is writing a few new chapters, and all the old conspiracy spuikers out on parade.

ONLY way to understand RE is follow the economic fundamentals, if there is a traded commodity with more garbage written I'm yet to notice it.

What we should be focused on 2018/19 is recovery China domestic demand, the State has moved aggressively to contain supply but underlying demand seems stubbornly weak, as witnessed soft prices ATM.

ROW demand growth strong, domestic is the missing link. If tariffs do anything they may cause China to add domestic stimulus, as per 2025 stated goal.
