Fundamentally very interesting for hydrogen.
Thought I'd read somewhere that synthetic graphite was not that great for batteries, impacts their cycle life. (Is used as a small percentage in batteries for other purposes that I can't remember off the top of my head.)
The hazer process appears to be a great leap forward if it can be scaled. But I can't see refueling infrastructure been rolled out for hydrogen cars. After hazer you still need to compress and to achieve the energy density that hydrogen proponents talk about you still need to liquify (More energy again required). Then the world needs to talk and agree about how to mitigate the safety issues associated with refueling with a cryogenic liquid. Then the world needs to install the refueling infrastructure on mass. Why would anyone do this when the grid is already there and the world economic powers have placed their bets? (Batteries baby)
Of course for hazer we also need to ignore the fact that the feedstock is still a fossil fuel, regardless that the CO2 is been sequestered to graphite.
HZR might just pay on its own merits regardless of the hydrogen transport angle.
Just saying IMO hydrogen cars are not where the world is going.
