I am using windows and chrome (a different browser may make a difference I guess)
OK, below is an image (which I uploaded using 'upload a file')

If I place the cursor over the image (above), and right click, a pop up box appears with a number of options.
-open image in a new tab
-save image as
-copy image
-copy image address
I select 'copy image address'
and if I paste straight back onto the post the code looks like this
