I'm curious, what Bible are you using as mine says nothing about "I became you father" it says, I have begotten you through the gospel?

Are you telling me there are different bibles, if scholars can't translate it accurately into one bible, what makes you think you can understand it by yourself.
You might say through the Holy Spirit, so the Holy Spirit is not working with the bible translators then??
Under what authority do you workout that the Holy Spirit was active with a particular translation.

Even the "The Interlinear Bible" is different.
This is what it says I have it open in front of me.
1 Cor 4:15 For if you have myriads of teachers in Christ, yet not many fathers; for I fathered you in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

The Point MrG made was that the bible says not to call anyone "Father" for any reason, yet in a number of places ordinary people are called "fathers", by Jesus and the apostles.

I think it was the NIV, it's easier to just google and post what ever comes up, its better then having to chase a verse up that agrees with you and typing it in.

For serious study, I use the "Interlinear", plus I have "The New Jerome Biblical Commentary" written by 40 scholars for serious and academic Bible study, which breaks down each text of the bible into historical context + it's hand book giving it in simplified format.

I also use for the Gospels "The Complete Gospels" which also includes the books that were seen as Gospels in the 1st centenary, like Saying Q, Gospels of Thomas James Peter, Mark etc, to get a better picture as to how Christians practices / understood their faith.
