That's just why he'll go down in history as a great. Regardless of Tesla's fate he's done amazing things for EV which we badly needed. Open source may have brought the global change forward 5-7 years.
Whatever the outcome there's a gigafactory in Navada ready for him or a subsequent buyer to push out low cost batteries. EV will evolve over time but ain't going nowhere. Fossils have 20 years of meaningful production left.
