I'm considering what grace means - to me it means being saved not because of what we do but in spite of what we do.
I agree that non-believers and saints being given equal treatment is not fair but I don't see this as being much different from a life long devout Christian and a ratbag confessing with his/her last breath and both receiving salvation.
